Strange Brew Tattoo Shop
Strange Brew Tattoos have been around right from the inception of our business. Our goal is to offer high quality art in a clean and comfortable setting. We operate by appointment only to promote that your time is devoted to you, and to ensure your satisfaction. We are here for the client and here for the art.
Clean Art
We take pride in our cleanliness and our reputation for such. Strange Brew was one of the first shops in New York State to be certified by the health department and was a standing supporter for this regulation. The health department has used our shop for training new inspectors and has recommended clients to us when called for a reputable location . We are quite proud to have gained their respect and support over the years.
Great Art
The Shop boasts two degree'd artists to choose from Cat and Chimene. Our rates (as of 2009) are:
$85 per hour
$65 minimum for half hour or less
$95 per hour for cover-ups
Cat came from Brooklyn,New York to train at Strange Brew in 2003. She holds three art degrees, is a former illustrator for the NYC Tolkein Society and was the Makeup/Hair Designer for the Insane-O-Rama production of "Strange Things Happen at Sundown."
Chimene holds a Bachelors in Studio Art and a minor in Cultural Anthropology from SUNY Buffalo. She has been tattooing since 1990. Her work has won awards locally and been shown in magazines. Clients have come from Japan, Italy, Ireland and Germany. Her work has placed almost annually in the local 'Best of Buffalo' choice awards- holding her own with shops carrying up to a dozen artists.
Please specify which artist you wish to make your appointment with when calling. Please understand that Spring and Summer are our busy season and an appointment can take several weeks during this time.
Custom Drawing
Drawing that occurs at the time of the appointment is free of charge, however larger designs often require advance drawing time as do some custom art. Be aware that there is a fee for this time. This is for line art, not finished paintings, so don't be surprised that what you get for your money is a pencil drawing. If you would like to see your design as a finished painting you may discuss this option and fees with Cat.
